Commercial real estate broker websites have a large spectrum of simple to complex.  It’s important to sit down and really think about goals for your website.  When creating a commercial real estate broker website, what do you want to accomplish?


“When people Google my name, I want my website to show in the Top 10 results.” 

This can be accomplished by purchasing your name as a domain, I.E.  If you have a common name, think about adding CRE, or City, or State next to your name, I.E.  If you must use a dash, don’t worry – rumors about dashes being bad for SEO are false.

If your main purpose is just to be found online, you don’t have to get too fancy with your design.  A nice Parallax page with eye-catching design and contact info will suit your needs.


“I want a broker website that showcases all my strengths in commercial real estate.”

If you really want to showcase your strengths, I.E. sales, leasing space and tenant rep, you’ll need a complex design.  Make sure your menu clearly states the purpose of each page – don’t get cute.  “Selling Property” is much more descriptive than “Investing in You”.  If a visitor can’t easily navigate your website, they’ll leave.

If you have a special process for marketing your properties, or a formula for finding the perfect space – explain it!  Potential clients want to know what makes you special versus the other thousands of agents out there.  If you have specific skills or interests (industrial land) a web page is a great way to communicate it!


“I want to mercilessly crush my competition.” 

Don’t we all want to crush that braggy guy in the corner office?  Consider getting a website with a lead generating system.  Offer a PDF download in exchange for potential client’s contact info, something like “5 Tips to Selling your Commercial Property”.  Once a website visitor fills out their information they will automatically receive the PDF in their email.  Followed by a series of 3 emails, each advertising a service you offer.  Access your database any time to send property announcements, newsletters, interesting articles, or even make calls.  Using your website as a lead generating system can be an easy, hands-free way to generating a lot of leads quickly.
