When leads come in do you send one “thank you” email and forget about it? Do you even send a thank you? If you let your leads drop to the way side, you’re losing money. The prospect may assume you’re not interested or too busy for more clients. Keeping your leads hot is essential to getting new business.
Greeting Emails – Using a mass email program like MailChimp can make the follow-up process easy and hands-free. Develop 3 emails: (1) Thank you for contacting us! Here is a list of provided services… (2) Thank you again! Here are some helpful articles that apply to your needs/business… (3) Keep me in mind! Here is a list of my services and a few helpful articles… Now that you have 3 standard emails saved in Vertical Response, you can easily send them off to new leads! Once a week, log into Vertical Response, setup those 3 emails to your new leads, and relax! I suggest sending one email per week.
Monthly E-Newsletter – The greeting emails shouldn’t be the end of your strategy! Sending a monthly newsletter with Vertical Response will keep your business in front of leads all year. Your lead may not need your services right away; potential clients may be considering new investments or an office move for months before they act. Keeping in front of them once a month will ensure potential clients remember you when services are needed. Newsletters don’t have to be fancy, but they do have to be consistent. Provide relevant articles and interesting statistics in your newsletters.
Bi-Monthly Postcards or Mailers – Having both an email and physical mailer strategy will show that you’re serious about leads. Only receive names, email, and company name? Most prospects’ addresses can be found with simple Google search. A search of the company name with the individual’s name will usually provide you with all the info you need to mail a postcard or letter. Since mailers can be a bit expensive, I suggest doing a mailer once every-other month.
Social Media – If your Google search provides you with a Facebook or Twitter account, follow them! Most companies and people will return the favor. Showing initiative and interest in a prospect’s business will win them over!
